About the project
The hedonistic rave era with the pulsating tunes of 90’s house and garage, is the backdrop of this action- packed crime biopic set in Spain’s luxurious Palma de Mallorca that is inspired by true events.
Irish rogue, Mickey Sands, leaves his opportunist life in the UK to escape interrogation by psychotic narcissist Albert Baker about Mickey’s connection in a £20m gold bullion heist.
Mickey jumps on the first plane out to Palma to visit family friend and ex- serviceman ‘Raving’ Ronnie Reynolds, a self-indulgent entrepreneur living a debauched lifestyle in the Mediterranean. Together, helped by plain Jane protégé, ‘Smudge’ Ambrose and mercenary for hire Theodore ‘T’ Downe they build an empire through timeshares, drugs and money laundering for the FBI’s most wanted drug lord, the etiquette obsessed Carlos Vaquero.
Mickey’s life seems complete with the opening of his nightclub ‘Bananas’ and the arrival of the captivating, nomadic DJ U’Neek (Dominique) who between them make it the number one dance venue on the island.
The unexpected arrival of Albert and his horde of hooligans threatens to destroy all that they have worked for through intimidation and violence. Outnumbered and desperate, Mickey and Ronnie risk it all by recruiting cold war remnant Vita Noskov and her death squad to eliminate the problem but their ruthless efficiency just cements their downfall.
